On 10-17-09 I was sent home from work by my doctor & put on bedrest & disability for preterm labor. My job put me on FMLA 12 weeks ended 1-9-10. Today 1-20 I received a letter saying that I was terminated from my position on 1-14 & my benefits will end 1-31 with option to pay cobra ($1400/month). I am 37 weeks pregnant @ this point & medically unable to return to work. My dr put in my return to work date as 3-23-10 6 weeks after my due day. My question is can the hospital that I worked for fire me while I am out on medical disability? thank you
