Legal Question in Employment Law in New Jersey
Child Labor Law
I am 17 years old and I live in NJ. I
work in a restaurant. My shift one
night was from 5-10. I did not get a
break nor did I eat. I was there till
10:30 when I finally got tired and
decided to leave. The manager who
is not the owner or the general
manager said that I am going to be
fired. Would I be able to bring a
wrongful termination suit against
this company?

Re: Child Labor Law
There is no wrongful termination. You left work after a five hour shift. You were tired. The restaurant apparently does not want to employ tired people who leave in the middle of their five hour shift, and that's their right.
