Legal Question in Employment Law in New Jersey

I coached a travel softball team from September 2014 to August 2015. Our organization was ran out of a sports facility in NJ who paid us. I was considered a Independent Contractor since I was not hired through them but instead through the President of the softball organization. I have yet to receive my final paycheck that was supposed to be given to me August 30, 2015 and have tried to call and email the sports facility multiple times and each time they have strung me along and said my check will be ready the following week. I am tired of being strung along. How do I go about getting my money?
