Company files for Bankruptcy = No Last Paycheck

The company I worked for recently told everyone that they were going out of business. They said that we will get our last paycheck but they are not sure when. I don't believe them. They let us work two weeks for free and then on the first morning of the next pay period, they gathered us up and told us to go home because they were closing the business down.

Is there anything I can do to try and get paid?

You can also hire an employment lawyer to file a lawsuit to obtain your lost wages. However, an attorney will likely request a fee so if you don't have money to pay an attorney, then filing the claim yourself is a way to get the money owed to you without the necessity of hiring an attorney.
