can a company terminate benefits for w2 hourly employees while allowing benefits for w2 salary employees?

As a general rule, employment is at-will, and an employer can "discriminate" in compensation strategies, so long as the discrimination is not based upon or motivated by protected classifications (e.g., age, race, national origin, etc. etc. etc.).
