Legal Question in Employment Law in New Jersey

Company withholding Paycheck

A friend of mine works at Wal-Mart. Due to one of the manager's not entering payroll information into the system on time, she was told she would not be receiving a paycheck for two more weeks.

I just found out today that this is not the first, second or even third time it has happened, but that it happens almost every other month.

I was under the impression that this was terribly illegal, but wanted to get a more professional opinion.

She is afraid of being forceful about the matter for fear of losing her job.

Thank you for advice and knowledge on this subject.
