Legal Question in Employment Law in New Jersey

Discrmination at job

My employer hires sales reps as indipendent contractors.I am only Indian among 200+ reps.

In Feb 09 employer changed my territory and added only Indian bussiness accounts in my route which is increased in area from all the way north to all the way south. These accounts are very small and all Indians, but I got that in hope of me being Indian will increase sales.some times I make less than my gas expense. Can I do something abou this legally? Even though I signed the contract as Indipendent Contractor we still have to go in all meetings and trainings. My current route is half in money than any new reps being offered, even though they are giving me increased commission.I am only rep who travel all over in state.Everybody has a fixed area and they can open any new accounts in their area, but I have no big or normal accounts. Its not written in contract but I am being told that this is because of me being Indian. Is this discrimination? Can I take them to court

Re: Discrmination at job

You may have a claim for unlawful discrimination based on your ethnicity and/or nationality. Your claim would be a sophisticated claim (getting a 1099 or W-2 is not relevant) that would require legal counsel before filing a law suit or complaint with a civil rights enforcement agency.
