Legal Question in Employment Law in New Jersey

I have been employed by a non union hospital for more than almost 20yrs as a RN. The past 2yrs I have been Per Diem status. Recently there was a delay in the processing of my license renewal. I was unable to work due to this delay for approx 8wks. I kept my manager and care managers up to date as to what was going on. On August 8th at 8am I recieved a text msg and an email from my manager stating they needed help in my dept that entire wknd. at 9am the supervisor from the state called me and told me my license was processed and that they could call and verify it via phone and the computer would be updated in 24hr. I immediately called my manager forwarded the email and asked to work immediately. He told me on the phone " UH.....we started termination paperwork on you because you havn't worked" Not once did he or anyone else give me the inclination that I would be terminated especiallly since another fellow RN did not work for 6months just because she didnt want to and didnt sign up. She is still employed. I asked if there was another issue since I have had a stellar career at this instituition. The staff, care managers and physicians ALL are bewildered and support me. I am in shock. I have seen many worse things over the yrs that fellow workers have done and not be terminated. I did not recieve a warning, a supension or probation which should have been the first punishment. My manager is a brand new nurse with no experience. The boss above him does not like me personally and has even introduced me as "Norma Rae of the unit" to a previous manager. Another care manager said that the same manager "dont want you back you know how she feels about you". My manager also called me at home one wknd morning (day of his big pool party) during this 8wk period and asked me to work. He stated he called the state and had something faxed stating I could work that wknd and they were desperate for help. After calling two other managers and making sure he faxed something from the state saying I could work I went to work for 12hrs. On Monday i founfd out I was not supposed to work according to the state. The same boss who doesnt like me was very angry about this and I feel this affected the situation. Can I sue them for terminating me and not the other nurse? Can I sue my manager for jeopordizing my nursing license and can I sue the big boss for discrimination?

That is unbelievable. I am sorry to hear it. Please give me a call at 201 820 3460. What you are describing sounds very unfair, and I would like to put you in touch with a friend of mine who does this kind of law (representing employees who have been mistreated). He is one very very tough attorney, and I know he can assist you.
