Legal Question in Employment Law in New Jersey

I am currently employed with a third party vendor at a local hospital. My companies contract expired and the new owning group of the hospital is going to use their third party vendor now. That company would like to hire me in my present position and the hospital would like me to stay as well. My present company has a non-compete clause in the current contract with the hospital. My question is can they prevent me from going to work for the new company? Thanks
