Legal Question in Employment Law in New Jersey

I am currently employed at a private company and was offered a job for a school district where my father is employed. I gave my 2 weeks notice at my current job because I started the hiring process at the new job and now they are saying they might withdraw the job offer because of nepotism even though my father had nothing to do with the hiring prices and they were aware of our relationship the whole time. Is there anything I can do?

That depends on what you mean by "started the hiring process." If you had a firm offer of employment and it was not apparant that your father's position would disqualify you, you may have a cause of action base on both breach of contract and detrimental reliance. You would do well to discuss the details with an employment lawyer.
