Legal Question in Employment Law in New Jersey
employee defamation
My entire 17 year reputation at a major drug company was ruined by my boyfriend (who works there), his friend, and three layers of management who allowed it to go on. My reputation has always been great, perfect reviews, promotions, etc. Because of a giant fight at home, my boyfriend and others created something, either video, photos, whatever, which was shown to the entire plant. I know exactly when it happened because of the looks and comments about me all day. I have had no help from management or HR, and if I ask anyone about it they all say the exact same thing: ''I don't know what you are talking about''. If someone tries to talk to me and help, they are threatened and can no longer speak to me. The company is being taken over, and policy is to interview for your job. I was never given the chance to interview but the woman next to me got her job without the interview. I have lost all respect because of something I have never seen. However, I have been taping all conversations since a day or two after it happened. The conversations tell the story by themselves. I need a good lawyer to get my life back. I moved out of the house I bought with the boyfriend and live with my parents again.

Re: employee defamation
You should definitely speak to an attorney as soon as possible. There are very strict time limits on when you can bring a claim with the EEOC.
