Legal Question in Employment Law in New Jersey
hi, ive been an employee of stop and shop for almost a year now. when i was hired i was told i was going to be working in the deli part time for 8$ an hour. on my first day of work they told me the deli had enough people already so they asked me if i would mind working grocery instead (they mentioned more hours). i asked if i would still receive the same rate of 8$ and they said yes. and 8$ was my rate of pay for awhile... recently i looked at one of my pay checks and the rate had been changed from 8.00 to 7.75. i was never notified of the change. im not shure how far down the road they reduced my pay but it was without my consent. are they allowed to do that? and am i entitled to the money that they haven't payed me? your help would be much obliged. thank you very much!!

I would suggest that you send an internal memo to management and request information on why your salary was reduced.
