Legal Question in Employment Law in New Jersey

Employment Agreement

I have an issue with my employer regarding the employment agreement. And I received a Lawyer notice from my employer.

Recently I got a full time offer with the company where I am currently working as a consultant and I took that offer. As a family man I thought is a good option rather than working as a consultant (from past 2 years I worked with the same consulting company). But my employer is raised an issue as per the agreement that I am not suppose to join directly or indirectly (with in a year after termination) a client where I am currently working.

As per my knowledge I didn't written any agreement to him and I asked him to send a copy of the agreement. But he didn't respond only his lawyer is sending the notices.

My Question is I have to listen him my entire life. I wont get the opportunities like this every time. As a family man I cant able to work with him he wont pay me on bench and every month after sending the time sheet he use to pay me after 15 to 20 days.

Can you please help me I cant complaint any where on him. what I can do now. I already got notice from Lawyer and he is going to send the Legal notice with in few days.

Re: Employment Agreement

It is not completely clear from your description, but it appears that you are claiming that you never signed any employment agreement. That is a very important issue here. IF you did sign such an agreement then you have to review it very carefully to see whether you are, in fact, prohibited from taking this other position. With an attorney already involved on your former employer's side, it would be in your best interests to retain a lawyer to represent you in this matter. Our firm handles these type of employment situations and I would be happy to discuss this in further detail with you. Please feel free to contact me at your earliest convenience.
