Legal Question in Employment Law in New Jersey

I have an employment contract that is 6 months long and automaticly renews if notice is not recieved in writing 30 days prior to the end of the 6 month period by either party. It states a minimum hours per week to work and hourly wages. If the employer wants to terminate at the start of the 6 months (breaching the agreement) are they required to buy out the contract? Or do I have to file suit to enforce and recieve compensation?

Contract law seeks to place the non-breaching party in the same position as it would have been in had the contract been fully performed. That is known as being "made whole." So, if the employer does not pay the value of the contract through the end of the term, a suit might be required. See also: http://info.corbettlaw.net/lawguru.htm
