Legal Question in Employment Law in New Jersey

Employment issue

I have a difficult situation with my employer and need an advice.

Can employer send me to medical leave without pay for ndetermined time? Can employer hold my last paycheck with no reason for it?

Can ex-employer call my current employer and give me a bad reference even if I didn�t ask for the reference from ex-employer and didn�t provide new employment information?

What can I do in this situation?
