i have been accused of useing an in apprpriate term to describe a coworker. when I made the statement there were no witneses i did not make this statement directly to the coworker

my co workwer found out and called my area sales manage.

What rights if any do I have the comment was made to one person in a restroom

I'm not sure what you are concerned about. Did your sales manager threaten to fire you for making the comment? In general terms, you cannot defame someone in your speech but based on what you report here, it doesn't sound like you did. If you have been terminated or told you would be, you should consult an attorney immediately.
