Legal Question in Employment Law in New Jersey

Extended (6days) workweek

I am an hourly FT (40 hrs) employee. My employer consistently (last few years) is streaching my 40 hrs into 6 days workweek. I work usually 7 hrs @day for 5 days and 1 day@5 hrs. Is this legal? This practice significantly increse my cost of living (additional day of driving 30 miles + cost of lunch, dry cleaners, etc). Please advise. Most of my coworkers also work under such conditions.

Re: Extended (6days) workweek

Such a practice is not prohibited in New Jersey by statute or regulation. If you have a written contract or an oral contract that can be enforced, there may be some relief there.
