Legal Question in Employment Law in New Jersey
I was hired at a company called eDegreeAdvisors as a 1099 employee. I was hired as a inbound call center advisor. After i got hired and went through the 7 hours of training, they stated it would outbound calling even though the ad displayed inbound. After working for 1 hour, they messaged me and stated there was a problem with my address. Because i gave them my mothers address in Pennsylvania, because that is where my bank is located, they said they had to let me go. I sent them proof of my address in NJ and they said that wasn't good enough. Now they are saying they aren't going to pay me for my training or time worked. What can be done about this?
