Legal Question in Employment Law in New Jersey

New Jersey. I work a 12 hour day, with rotating days and rotating shift from day to nights and visa versa. Some weeks I work 3 days and others 4 days to total 80 to 92 hours per two weeks. This week my schedule was changed to wrork 8 days straight of 12 hours. From Tuesday to Tuesday. 4 days are in one work week and the other four start a different work week. How much of this should be overtime? at this time the only overtime I will get is any over the 40 hours for that work week. 4 per week, 8 total out of 96 straight hours.

Absent a contract that would define a different standard, "overtime" in New Jersey is hours worked in excess of forty hours in any one work week. The length of the work day is not considered. /p/ See also: http://info.corbettlaw.net/lawguru.htm
