Legal Question in Employment Law in New Jersey

Latin American Job duties

My supervisor asked me if I could answer Latin American calls when the Latin American Rep. was out sick etc. since I I speak Spanish. I did not have a problem with that. Now they want me to learn her job, which is different from what my duties are and a different division. I asked for compensation since I would be performing a new job description and they said no and still want me to perform those job functions. Furthermore, the latin american rep. is going to be out on maternity leave and management wants me to cover for her. Please let me know if I have any rights to refuse this mandate?

Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide.

Lou

p.s. a few months ago I was denied a promotion for a manager position and I believe there decision was motivated by there agenda to keep me in my current position so I can also perform the latin american position duties.
