Legal Question in Employment Law in New Jersey
Am i legally responsible if my employee is still paying me a month after being fired
1 Answer from Attorneys
Do you mean your "employer?" If not, then you will have to explain why your employee would be paying you after being fired.
If you meant to say your employer, then yes you are liable for any monies received that you are not entitled to. A mistake is not a windfall for you and if you make them sue you to get it back you can end up paying for damages and possibly even attorney fees as well.
