A NJ employer has to pay amounts earned within fifteen days. The problem with profit sharing is determining when they are earned. The courts honor policies and agreements for deferred payment of commissions, bonuses, profit shares, and like compensation. Such amounts can even be subject to an employee's being on the payroll at the time of the payment. So reference must be made to the particular employer's policies and precedent.
