Legal Question in Employment Law in New Jersey

offensive email in the workplace

Since I started work at this office over 1 1/12 years ago I regularly receive offensive email of a sexual nature. It is either in a joke format or image.

This email is generally broadcast to the whole office, but I am offended by it.

Does this constitute sexual harassment if it make me feel uncomfortable and is it grounds for a case should I decide to leave this employer?

Re: offensive email in the workplace

Certainly, email of a sexual nature can be sexual harassment in certain circumstances. Many of these kinds of cases, however, depend on the details. Most importantly, does your employer know that you are offended by the emails?
