Re: being offered a lower postion with lower pay

A company can demote or reduce the pay of an employee for a legitimate business reason, such as business being slow. However, if the employer was motivated by harassment, discrimination and/or retaliation in deciding to give the employee a demotion and pay cut, then it may be against the law. You should always have severance packages reviewed by an attorney. For more info, feel free to call me at 908.301.9095
