Legal Question in Employment Law in New Jersey

hi there, i owrk in a casino in Atlantic City.the other day i was ethnically harassed at work by my direct supervisior in front of 3 ofmy co-workers and at leats 5 customers. he called me ( excuse my language) " Fcuking foreniner" and just to make himself clear he repeated " i hate you and of you fcuking foreneirs" . i didn't contact our boss the day because he is best friend with that guy.

now i feet treatened and harassed - he is s pretty big guy . my question is: do i have any leagal rights and if any what the best way to act - the HR department or hire a lawer. any advise will be halpfull.

You should immediately go to HR and file a complaint against the person. If HR does nothing or refuses to investigate, you can then file a complaint with the NJ Division of Civil Rights or retain an attorney to represent you. By going to HR, you are showing that you have attempted to resolve this matter internally, which strengthens your case should you later decide to use the courts or the state agencies.
