received pay after resigning from company

I receved a payroll payment via direct deposit from a former employer after leaving. What are my obligations? Can I be sued for this money if they wish to be reimbursed and the money is not available?

If you have been paid in error and are aware of the error, it is your obligation to return the money. Legally you will be obligated to return it if they prove the mistake.
