Legal Question in Employment Law in New Jersey
I recently lost my child's sitter afterschool/rec. I need to leave work early. My hours are 9-5. I have to leave 2:30. I agreed not to take lunch and I am a sales rep on the road with a laptop so I can access all network info and make client calls from home. HR has said they will give me 2 weeks to remedy the situation otherwise I have to make a decision. If I continue to leave to pick up my child it will be considered unapproved absence and I will ultimately be fired for excessive absenteeism. If I get fired due to absenteeism will I still be eligible for unemployment?
