Legal Question in Employment Law in New Jersey
At the restaurant I work at in NJ, the employers will not provide a summer uniform for their employees working outside in high temperatures reaching 90-105 degrees. In these conditions we have to wear a long button down cotton shirt, a vest, jeans, and a long apron. Are my employers violating any laws by making their employees work in dangerous heat conditions with no appropriate uniform?

No, your employer is not violating any law as long as you get appropriate breaks due to the extreme whether conditions. On the flip-side, wearing a long sleeve shirt offers more protection from UV rays than wearing short sleeve shirt and sunscreen lotion.
