Legal Question in Employment Law in New Jersey

salary reductio

I have been employed by a Board of Education as a special education teacher since 1996. At the time sp.ed. teachers received a $400 stipend included in their salary. At the next contract re-negotiations they got rid of the sp.ed stipend. Although I continued to receive the $400. Now 12 years later, they have a approved a salary reduction of $400 to my salary. Is this legal? What can I do to prevent this? What are my rights?

Re: salary reductio

If this is a policy decision that effects all workers in your category then it would be best for you to seek redress through your teachers union.
