Legal Question in Employment Law in New Jersey

I am a unionized public empoyee. The workers in my department are unhappy with our union representation. How do we go about decertifying our union? What protections do we lose or keep? What are the ramifications of doing so? Is there a time period we must be without representation before we can obtain services of a different union ?

You would lose the right to collectively bargain for work rules. The thing to do in this situation is to contact the head of the union, file a grievance, and move to replace the management of the union through the voting process.
