Legal Question in Employment Law in New Jersey

I was working with company A. In Dec 2011 company B contacted me for a fulltime job, after 3 interview rounds, reference checks they made a offer w/ a joining date in April. I signed the agreement, offer letter and submitted required documentation immediately. Accordingly on confirmation of the job from company B, I gave resignation to company A to join company B on agreed date. Now its my last day w/ company A and the hiring manager from company B told me that they wont be able to fulfill that offer made previously. Because I resigned already and cannot stay with company A, I am the only bread-earner on my family and I am now jobless without my fault. What I could do now, where can I file a case against company B for my loss and stress???

It is possible that I can get some compensation from Company B for you. A lot depends on what the agreement says but even if you do not have a firm promise of employment for a time, a court will frequently imply a contract. There is also the fact that the offer induced to resign you other job to your detriment. If you like, I will look over the documents that you have and give you a more informed opinion. Email or call on Monday.
