Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New Jersey

bedbug pest control law

Hi,

I am staying in jersey city heights in 2 bedroom apartment for last 9 months.

Recently I apartment was infected with bedbugs.I didnt bring any old funiture nor visited any hotel.

I told my landlord regarding the same but he is asking me to bare the cost of pest control.

I am not the one who brought those bugs then why should i pay for the pest control.

Please give me advice regarding the law for the same.

You should not bare the cost of pest control. THe caselaw regarding bedbug infestation is well documented in New Jersey.
