Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New Jersey
over charge in rent
I live in a rent stabilized apartment . When I moved in 3 years ago I was told that underground parking is $100 extra per month which I paid. Through the rent-leveling board I found out that underground parking is included in my rent. Landlord owes me $3,600. I confronted landlord with a copy of the letter from the rent leveling board. Landlord only gave me a $180 credit on my last month's rent. Any legal advise?

Re: over charge in rent
You have an excellent case against the landlord for Consumer Fraud that I would be happy to assist you with.
Re: over charge in rent
It would appear that the parking charge is illegal and that he owes you a credit for payments upon same.
