Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New Jersey

Housing authority

I rent a room in a private home. The landlord, lives in the house, along with another tenant, and I believe soon to be a third. I believe that just prior to my moving in, the housing authority told the landlord not to rent rooms out. How does this affect me? Things are not going quite so well, what are my options regarding staying, or moving?

Find out what went on with the housing authority. In Evesham, that would probably be the building dept. Call the Township Manager to be sure. Your best tactical position is to have the Township tell the landlord that you have to leave. If that happens, not only do you not have to pay rent, the landlord has to pay you six months rent in advance so that you can move.
