Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New Jersey

My husband fell in the basement and we fell behind in our rent, we lost our truck and my husband lost his job, because he was out of work for 10 weeks. The landlord told us it was our fault and she wants her back rent. Her son was fixing pipes in the basement and left the pipes in the walk way by the fuse box, and we blew a use and he went down to fix it and fell on the pipes and broke all his ribs. She keeps telling me everyday that she is going to evict us. We have been paying monthly but not back rent. Now for the last three years we have been paying the electric bill for the porch light, hall light , basement light, and garage, that we do not use. We power the light on the garage for the people upstairs so they can see when they park. We don't even use it. Plus she put two new roofs on and I paid that bill too. What can be done about this. She told me to put my dog to sleep and find a new place to live!
