Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New Jersey

landlord responsibility

I have squirrels living in the attic of my apartment. I have informed my landlord of this, and they have done nothing to remedy the problem. Are they responsible for getting rid of the squirrels and/or making repairs to openings in the attic that allowed the squirrels to enter in the first place?

Re: landlord responsibility

It is very likely your landlord's responsibility to exterminate and repair. Very very likely.

If the landlord owns the whole building, then it certainly will be the landlord's duty to eliminate pests.

If the landlord will not respond, then a sharp letter from an attorney may do it.
