Landlord Sells Property

When a landlord sells the property are they required to give the tenant a formal notice of who the new owners are? The new owners came to intorduce themselves and ask for payment but I have no notice of them now bing the new owners.

There is an article on this site's blog discussing the New Jersey Landlord Registration Act.

You should be able to contact the county or town clerk's office to find out if the registered owner of your building has changed recently. You should also be able to retrieve the proper name and contact details for the current registered owner.
