Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New Jersey

Law suit

I would like to know, if a tentant can sue a landlord. reason lock out, due to back rent. Property was commerical building free standing. Was not notified by the following

certified mail of intent or the marchell office of evection. Landlord has all my possessions. If I can sue need time frame.

It is impossible to tell what your legal rights are, without looking at the lease and finding out a lot more information.

You really need to consult with (and pay) an attorney to look it over and give you some guidance. You may end up owing a great deal of money, so I think it really is worth having a lawyer assist you.

Yes you can sue, and my opinion is that you would have 6 years to do so under a contractual statute of limitations, but I would certainly not wait that long. Do you have a written lease agreement? where is the property located? Bruce Gudin, Esq.
