Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New Jersey

Lease

I rented a commercial Bld in 2003 and signed a yearly lease with the landlord. Being the only tenant I paid all utilities as stated in the lease. The bld was sold in 2004 and my rental space went from 3500 square ft to 1000 square ft. I am being told by a judge that I am responsible for the utilities since 2004 to present, because I do not have a lease with the new landlord that the provisions of the old lease are still binding. Is this possible?????

Re: Lease

When your space was reduced you entered into a new lease.
