Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New Jersey
owner sold the house.
the owner sold the house but only gave us 4 days notice.
what is the legal amount of notice they need to give us.

If you have a lease your rights under the lease continue. If you are a month to month tenant with no lease the landlord must give you 30 days notice prior to the day of the month on which your lease began. If you are unable to find other quarters despite a reasonably vigorous effort the Court can give you up to six months to move, usually a month or two at a time.
