Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New Jersey
I rent an apartment in NJ, but I just took a new job that requires me to move to CA at the end of the month. The landlord wants me to pay next month's rent plus an early termination fee. Is there anyway to get out of paying those costs?

Actually, that sounds like a good deal. Unless the lease contains a termination clause, a tenant is liable for the full rent to the end of the term provided that the landlord makes reasonable efforts to migigate damages by renting out the premises. `
