Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New Jersey

Renters rights

I am renting a house with my 95 year

old Mother and a live in caregiver. The

caregiver is going to bring her 2

children with her to live in seven days a

week. Do I have to notify my landlord

and what rights do I have as a renter of

a 4 bedroom and 2 bathroom home.

Re: Renters rights

You should check your lease. Chances are that permanent residents who are not parties to the lease would violate its terms. Your landlord may tolerate the caregiver by herself but it is a much longer stretch to suppose that the family will be tolerated. You could find yourself headed for an eviction.
