Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New Jersey

Selling Rental Property

Presently, I rent my duplex on a month to month basis. I just received an offer that I can't refuse. How much time do I have to give my tenants to move?

Re: Selling Rental Property

varies by state, however generally on a month-to-month lease you are required to give at least 15 days notice prior to the end of the month period.

Hope this helps.

Re: Selling Rental Property

You have a problem. You must give a month's notice prior to the beginning of the month prior to their getting out. The problem is so long as they pay the monthly rent they can get up to six months to move. So notice must given as soon as possible.

Call me if you like.
