Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New Jersey

We already signed a lease contract and paid the security deposit a month ago. And all of a sudden the county property maintenance told her we break the rule. When we first talk to them they said it has to be four people renting and uts me and my hysband my brother and a friend. I should say were just one family renting did we break any rule.

I assume your landlord told you this. There is no regulation that requires an apartment have it's occupants be one family. You need to consult with an attorney. Most will offer a free initial consult. Bring all paperwork.
