Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New Jersey
What are the steps to take to withhold rent
I live in an apartment complex I've been here 8 months. When I moved in I had told the manager that the air conditioner was broken and I needed a new one. She told me that they don't fix them in the winter time. Then the refridgerator door is broken i told them about it and I have not received another one. The old manager was fired and a new one took over and she told me that my air conditioner is fine and i will not be getting a new one( after 2 hours it shuts off and it leaks inside the house) The refridgerator is still broke and she said i dont need a new one. The door shelves is held on by duck tape. How do I go about witholding rent till these repairs are made. The new manager does not like me and every little thing she is trying to have me evicted. Please help
