Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New Jersey

Suing my landlord

I moved into an apartment last December in which I paid first months rent and 1.5 months security. When I applied for a parking sticker, I was told by a city official that the apartment was illegal and i would have to move. My landlord removed the stove to make it seem as if no one lived in the apartment. Since then, I have not had a stove for over 4 months. I am planning to move and want to take my landlord to court because i was not able to cook in my apartment . How much can I sue for damages?

Re: Suing my landlord

There is a law which requires that your landlord pay you a sum of money equal to six months of rent to pay for your moving expenses. Additionally, you should stop paying rent, at all.
