Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New Jersey
A tenant in my no pets allowed building has gotten a dog. My son is allergic and is suffering. The landlord has done nothing to rectify the situation. Can I legally break my lease? How should I word the notice of intent to vacate?

If one of the reasons you rented there was you wanted a property w/o pets, then you could argue the LL is in violation of the lease's promise of quiet enjoyment of the leased property, therefore in breach of the lease. I'd talk with the LL and tell him he is inbreach of his lease with you, and you will leave because of his breach if he does nothing. PUT THIS IN WRITING !!!
