Tenants Right to Privacy

My boyfriend and I are moving out of our apartment at the end of the month. Our landlord shows our apartment without notifying us first. Then he leaves cryptic notes under our door stating he will be showing the apt. ''several times this week between 6-8:30 pm. Can he do this? I called him and left him a messaging telling him I thought 8:30 pm was too late and to try and make these appointments earlier and he called me back and left a message stating he had the right to show it up until 9 pm. I feel he is being completely unreasonable but cannot find anyone to answer my questions. Unlike him I don't have a lawyer to hide behind.

You have a right to quiet enjoyment of your apt. The law does allow the landlord to enter the dwelling at reasonable times upon reasonable notice, but reasonableness is always the determining factor. If you feel that 8:30 is unreasonable, and have made it clear to the landlord as such, you can call the police if he keeps trying to enter the dwelling that that time.
