Re: Is a work transfer enough to break lease

A work transfer does not usually give rise to an option to terminate a lease. Of course, if that had been thought of when the lease was drafted, a clause to that effect might have been included.

Termination clauses for unexpected occupational transfers are common only in areas where there are a large number of military families. Paulsboro is not close enough to Ft. Dix or Maguire to raise hopes that you might have such a lease.

That said, the lease is what the lease is. Read it and see what it says about termination. If you have no luck with that, there is still the possiblity of negotiation with the landlord.
