Legal Question in Legal Ethics in New Jersey

Contract Committment

I had a contract with the company I worked - if the company were to be sold, the shares would be immediately vesting upon sale. The company is now being sold BUT part of the employment offer requries the waiver of immediate vesting. Is there any thing I can do about this?

Re: Contract Committment

yes, you could not agree to waive your rights. they are probably offering you (and maybe others) something in exchange for waiving your rights.

Get all of your paperwork together, and go see an attorney to get some clear advice on what your rights are, and what your options are. I have helped people being let go from big companies; sometimes it is better to take what they offer, sometimes it is better to not take it and maybe push for more.

If you would like, give me a call; I am in northern New Jersey. I will be happy to discuss this with you; the telephone consultation will be free.
